Located close to the M1 in Derbyshire with our own casting facility, guaranteeing the provision of piles to site is totally under the control of Simplex, thus ensuring agreed project programmes can be met.

GROUND CONDITIONS
The precast pile is best suited to granular or fill conditions particularly where the strata will be predominantly end bearing but the pile can also be used in cohesive strata. It is especially useful in very soft ground conditions where a cast in situ pile might be subject to necking or in aggressive ground conditions which might otherwise attack cast in situ concrete.

PILE DETAILS
Pile sections are normally 220mm or 270mm square although other sections can be manufactured to order. When needed piles are connected together using a fully machined, mechanical joint capable of transferring structural loads along the whole length of the section. This allows for horizontal and uplift forces to be catered for and maintains pile integrity in any driving conditions.
Resistance to sulphate Class 4 is offered as standard with Class 5 being catered for by the application of a suitable coating.
Minimum concrete strength is 50N/mm2. Full length reinforcement is provided to cater for structural loads.

DRIVEN STEEL TUBE PILES
We hold stocks of steel tube for driving.

QUALITY CONTROL
Both precast pile manufacture and construction activities are carried out with a fully accredited system to ISO 9001 2000.

PLANT EMPLOYED
• Junttan PM20LC fully hydraulic rigs with an accelerated 5 tonne hammer can drive up to 20m in
one section.
• Woltman THW4017 rigs with a Junttan 4 tonne accelerated hammer.
• Banut 700 and Banut 400 rigs with 4 to 6 tonne hammers.
• All machines are capable of driving steel bearing piles, tube piles or timber piles up to a rake of 1 in 4.

TESTING
Static load testing in compression, tension or horizontal loading can be carried out using Kentledge or Anchor piles as reaction. Dynamic testing is also carried out using the latest analysis techniques to establish safe working loads and pile settlements.
