Focus Projects - Aerodrome Road, Barnet
The replacement of two adjacent rail bridges carrying the Midland Mainline over Aerodrome Road in Barnet needed to be undertaken with minimal disruption to rail passengers. This dictated that much of the work had to be carried out during weekend and night possessions. Eight large piles of up to 2.4m diameter were constructed within permanent casings, forming the four bearing points for each of the bridges. New wing walls were formed with 900mm diameter contiguous walls using rotary techniques.
